Ryan White Coaching

Emotion regulation coaching · online · for adults

You’re doing the best you can. and You can learn to do better.

Both are true. That’s where the work starts. I’m Ryan — I spent 20 years teaching emotional skills as a DBT therapist. Now I coach adults who are done letting their emotions run the show.

Sound familiar?

Feelings that flood

You go from fine to furious — or fine to gone — in seconds. You say things you regret, or shut down and say nothing at all. Afterward you think, that wasn’t really me. It keeps happening anyway.

Success that costs too much

On paper, you’re doing great. In private, you’re white-knuckling it — overwhelmed, running hot, snapping at the people you love and lying awake replaying it.

After therapy, what’s next?

You did the hard work. You’re stable, self-aware — and stuck. You don’t need to process more. You need structure, practice, and someone in your corner while you build the life part.

Simple to start. and Built to stick.

  1. A free 20-minute call

Video, no pressure, no prep. You tell me what’s going on; I tell you honestly whether coaching fits — and if it doesn’t, where to look instead.

  2. A plan built on your patterns

We map when and where your emotions take the wheel, then pick the specific skills that interrupt your pattern — not a generic curriculum.

  3. Weekly sessions, real practice

50 minutes a week by video, with small, concrete practices in between. The session is where we plan; your actual life is where the skills get built.

  4. Skills that outlast the coaching

The goal is not to keep you as a client. It’s to make you steady enough that you don’t need me.

Twenty years in the room. and Now in your corner.

I’m Ryan White. For 20 years I worked as a therapist practicing Dialectical Behavior Therapy — the gold-standard approach for helping people handle intense emotions. I’ve sat with thousands of hours of big feelings, and I’ve watched the same skills work over and over, for very different people.

Coaching is how I bring those skills to people who don’t need therapy — they need a trainer. Someone direct enough to name what’s actually happening, warm enough that you can hear it, and experienced enough to know which skill fits which moment.

Coaching with me is not therapy, and I’m deliberate about that line — here’s the difference.

What you’ll actually learn

  • Riding the wave — feeling a surge of emotion without acting on it, until it passes. It always passes.
  • Naming what’s happening — catching the feeling early, when it’s still small enough to steer.
  • Cooling the body first — fast, physical ways to bring the temperature down when talking to yourself isn’t working.
  • Saying the hard thing — asking for what you need and saying no, without the blowup or the cave-in.
  • Choosing the response — acting from what matters to you instead of what the feeling demands.

Straight answers about money

Coaching is not therapy. and That’s the point.

Coaching is for adults who are fundamentally stable and want to get better at handling emotions, stress, and relationships. It is skills, practice, and accountability — not diagnosis or treatment of a mental health condition.

If you’re in a mental health crisis, or what you’re facing needs clinical care, coaching is the wrong tool — and I’ll tell you so directly on our first call and help you find the right one. Therapy isn’t a lesser option; it’s a different one, and I spent 20 years providing it.

If you’re in crisis right now: call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, US), available 24/7.

Ready when you are.

The first step is a free 20-minute video call. No prep, no commitment — just a straight conversation about what’s going on and whether I can help.
